judge the worth of these speakers...they are intended to be listened to at / near ear level in a horitzontal position, from a position close to the wall. Bookshelf or stand.As you describe it, bass will be overemphasized and treble will be either too bright (if floor is uncarpeted wood, tile, or concrete) or too dull (if your floor is carpeted). One of the tweeters is firing directly into the floor if you have the speaker standing vertically, and the tweeters are two low.
