Man I can't believe the advice you're getting here. I'm going to make several assumptions. 1. You are not primarily interested in classical music so "high accuracy" is not your real concern. 2. You are young and impetuous. That's normal for college students. OK, then here's my advice. Forget all those wimpy washed out sounding little speakers. Go for used Cerwin Vegas. They will rock your little world. I'd also start collecting boxes because once you crank those babies up, you are going to get thrown out of one place after another. On the possibility that I am dead wrong and you ARE into classical music, get yourself a good pair of headphones instead. That's the only way to get high accuracy sound on a low budget and the only way to listen to music at high levels without annoying people around you who want to sleep or study. OK, bring on the flames.
