Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Holy S**t! What's Up Man?

Good to hear from you Matt. Glad to hear another endorsment of the flexibility of Vandersteens with different gear and setups; it'll be fun to do a little home audition.

The exp. I just posted about was with Nick at the AC in Verona. You were right -- he's a pretty easy going and knowledgible guy. And thank you again for selling me the 124/SME 309 combo. I have since had a big 'ol custom base made for, a new armboard, mushrooms and motor mounts -- any motor rumble that was a bit annoying on low vol. passages is now pretty much gone. Turned out to be pretty darn good mechanically (both deck and arm) -- keeps its speed and sounds pretty darn good.

I know you're a busy guy -- me too -- moved our shop around the corner to Washington Street and have really hit the ground running..
but lemme know if you ever want to get together to spin some wax.. Your exp. with audio and vintage audio in particular could save me a ton of time in terms of confirming some findings and seeing through my current gear issues -- Dinner & Beers on the wife and I.. just shoot me an email if your down.. no rush, no worries if you can't do it.. I promise not to play any Buddy Guy ;-)

Cheers, Marc
