Is it silly to consider trying a 70's era receiver (Marantz, Pioneer, H/K etc) with a fairly new pair of speakers (Proac D15s)?
The reason I ask is that every time I hear my father in law's Marantz 4430/ Rectlinear lowboy combo, it blows me away. I've gone through alot of equipment over the years, but I've rarely heard the kind of warm, powerful, relaxed sound that his system puts forth. Any thoughts?
