As you can tell by the other postings, there is nothing wrong with what you plan to do. The trick will be to keep your hands off the completed system. Having a "hi end" audio background may make that difficult over time. There is alway a tempting tweek or addition or upgrade. In my case it would also mean keeping my nose out of eBay. Good luck.
