Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Re: Vintage receivers with "hi-end" speakers?

Try the 50-watt 838 with 'em. Good is good, the mere passage of time does not obviate that simple fact. The 626 is a nice unit, too. (Both occupy similar places in their respective model series, smack dab in the middle, probably the most popular models).

Now, I'll admit I'm a cranky old fart, and look askance at the idea one 'must' keep getting the 'latest and greatest.' I keep looking and listening, but just don't hear the difference to make me change from my several stereos.
