Wharfedale single driver (vintage)

Can anyone help me identify the actual speaker found in a pair of vintage wharfedales? When I got them home, I was surprised to find only one speaker ineach 24x12x11 speaker box. I'd like to know if these are the original speakers that came with them or not. I'd also like to better understand why there is nothing else in there. On the bottom of the speaker magnet of one of the speakers is: 908A316A and right below it: 24 8021A. The number 820 is scrawled on the speaker box in handwriting. The cone is red with 208A73-1 (or T or I- I can't tell) on it. The wharfedale logo, when speakers are upright is on the top right at an angle (not horizontal or vertical). The greenish/yellowish colored speaker grills look 70sish, but I feel these must be older. There are ten screwholes on the back of the speaker along the edges (for removal). There is what I think is called a whizzer thing on the speaker. I'd appreciate any help identifying the boxes and or speakers and their vintage. These speakers are very lightweight for their size. Please email me or post and answer. Thanks!
