Wharfedale retrofit success

I just completed a retrofit of a pair of Wharfedale W-70's to allow them to be used in my current system. I took the existing high and low pass values for the original cabinet and reengineered them into a true 3 way 2nd order crossover. Amazingly it brightened the cabinets greatly. I think there may have been some phasing issues with the 8" full range producing the same frequencies as the low and the high. I was truly amazed at how large the soundstage grew from such a simple change. I am now going to sand and re veneer the cabinets since they are showing there age, they are the now the main speakers in my system which I use for both Music and Home Theatre. Originally I had heard from a couple of different people that the Wharfedales would never work in home theatre but they are doing well in mine. Of course mini is a relatively low power system ( 50 watts/channel X 5 )but it sounds phenominal. I had a friend over who spent over a $1000 on his mains and he was willing to trade so I was quite proud of my $50.00 investment.
