Re: Wharfedale W-70

Greg....

I have these same Wharfdale model 70's I bought at a thrift store. Mine have these little 6 inch table legs attached. Mine also have the Radio People Ltd moniker on the back but no Wharfedale emblem on the front. Mine are dated 10/63 on the inside. I did some inquiring also about these when I got them and found out that the Radio Peoples Limited was the major distributor for Wharfs to the far east. I have a storage sticker on the back of mine with a HongKong address on it. I have mine hooked up to a Marantz 2220b. The bass is alittle shallow but overall very detailed for accoustic and classical. Not the best for rock. I do need to re-wire inside and perhaps put in new cross-over elements. I did put new speaker connects on the back so I can use leads I used on other speakers too.
