Wharfedale Model 60 speakers- Comments?

I happened across an old pair of Wharfedale, Model 60 speakers. They have a blonde colored veneer and a kind of funny lattice-work grille on them. In my case, someone chose to paint them white with a brush, meaning at some point, I will probably have to refinish the cabinets.
I'm wondering if that lattice-work grille was original or if whoever painted them added this after-the fact. Does anyone have any knowledge of this speaker? Thanks in advance.
