RE: Were they any good and if so how do they compare to equivalent Tannoys

I think it is a question similar to if a Klipsch K'horn is as good as a Concet Grand. 2 different speakers with 2 different sounds. Some will like both and some will prefer 1 over the other.

Wharfedale drivers from that era were some of the better divers out there in design and build.

If I were to try to make a direct comparisong of the Wharfedale drivers to another brand it would likely be the classic Bozak drivers. Biggs and Bozak were not all that far apart in their thinking though the execution was in different directions except with the woofers.
