Re: Wharfedale 70's?

Whatever you do, don't take a drill to the back unless you need to add to your sand box.

I had these in the late 60s. Mated them with a Marantz 19 for some really nice classical sound. Tweeters are a little fragile to power therefore, be careful. Sorry, I don't remember ratings, response, etc. but I seem to remember mating them first because the receiver was within what I termed to be the safe operating zone for the speakers hence should be safe to guess something in the range of 50 watts rms with about a 2-3 db headroom which is what the Marantz had. My brother used the combo after I gave them to him when he went to undergraduate school. He used the setup through it and law school and some years thereafter with no blown drivers, therefore I feel comfortable recommending the combination or at least an amp of similar capabilities.
