IIRC, they were ok but nothing that stood up to the Monster Receivers we had in the store at the time. Compared to the JBL and Advents of that time, the salesmen on the floor thought they weren't really worth much. Yes, there was a tweeter facing upward, too.
Today, however, they are more valued for the open-baffle design that's again popular in some circles. On first looks, they appear to be Quad 57s on hormones.....
