Will this work? - need some opinions

I have some extremely nice Wharfedale W70D cabinets - I parted out the drivers because I didn't really like the sound that much. These lowboy-style cabinets have 2.5 cubic ft. internal volume. Just yesterday I scored a pair of Bozak B-207A coaxials at an estate sale - I know the recommended volume cabinet for these is about 5 cubic ft. from what I've read.

Could these Bozaks work in the wharfedale cabinets if I put a pretty good size port in the front baffle, or would this be a mistake?
