RE: Wharfedale W70 to become subwoofer -

You're right. I thought with such a solid box (sand-filled rear baffle) and a handsome front, I could make something useful out of it. The idea was to save money. Though I would not have destroyed the woofer - it would be used for subtle low-level bass. But as you and others suggest, 30/40Hz may be beyond it's capabilities.

Now if I wanted to run the MC2100 mono and get a *real* sub driver, I could make my house jump off the foundations! =8^D I used to have a 12" JBL sub that, when turned up, made you think your heart was going to stop.
