Maybe someone here can help me. I have a single Wharfedale W70 speaker ('63) in great condition. But after looking for a match, I have given up and want to use the quality woofer and sturdy cabinet for a passive subwoofer. I will use an extra SS amp I have to power it.
How can I make this woofer cut off at around 70-80 Hz? What value of inductor in mH should I use? Not looking for precision, just "close enough for jazz".
I realize the woofer was not meant for big power - for my pupose it's only for subtle bass reinforcement. I have some old inductor coils; good big ones too.
Also, should I "Y" both channels from preamp into one amp input?
Is it possible to block high frequencies before the amp?
Thanks,
Pete
