Don't know anything about the speakers but the connector may be a Motorola jack used for car radio antenna connectors. Years ago, the industry looked at this as a standard connector for speakers. It fell flat on its face and to my knowledge no one used it, while some opted for the RCA connector. The photo is not clear enough so this is a shot in the dark.
