I have a pair of W90 speakers and the woofers are in separate enclosure from the other drivers. The tweeter and midrange are mounted in the open with a box behind them, I assume to give ambiance. Woofers are both active but one has cork in the cone and is a flat driver. They sound very nice.Dave
