Re: Bozak Symphony update

The pictures in your attachment from the Japanese site are great shots of late production Moorish Symphonys. I say that because the vertical row of tweeters are the Z series(you can tell by the curvilinear cones. All prior tweeters had straight sided cones. I wonder if these were modified ; I say that because the midrange and tweeter array are flush mounted from the front side. It was my understanding that the long vertical slot in front of the tweeter array was intentional on all Symphony & Concert Grand series and had something to do with dispersion enhancement. My 7701 CG's have Z tweeters which are located behind the slot, same as all earlier production runs. Maybe Brian or Pat or knowledgeable others can shed some light. I also noticed the Japanese web site gives the efficiency as 94 db. I never saw a figure that high for Bozaks.

You had also asked about placement of the tweeter arrays whether they should be inboard or outboard. Most pics show them inboard but if you have minimal separation you might get a better imageing/stereo effect with outboard placement. Some models have the array right down the middle so left or right becomes a mute point. Dave
