A few words about JohnR

In all seriousness, if any of you DIY mod freaks or EICO nuts happen to be within a 100 mile radius of ole John in the Bay area, I would not even hesitate a second to pay the lad a visit. He is very knowledgable about gear mods and loves music as well (a rare combination).

John is one of the nicest guys I have met through this network and he has amassed a garage full of neat tube gear, along with some great examples of vintage HIFI. He up and mailed me without a dime, a full working Hickok Model 800 tube tester, this after tweaking it and buying all new knobs! Why? Because he is THAT nice (he even sent a tube that he tested so that I could test and see if the unit had changed calibration during shipping) ! Now dont expect that to happen again, but do expect a great guy that is well worth a drive with your trusty EICO in tow.

NOTE: John also has an interesting site on vintage tube amps he is getting off the ground at http://www.tubeaholic.com/ Give it a look and drop him a mail!
