RE: conducive changes to the tube?

John
That was my bad as I reversed the wording.I did amend it and said, made changes in the circuit that were conducive to the 6L6gc.
Anyway, you basically have to rewire the tubes from the 7591 to the 6L6 types.Keep in mind that pin 3 is the same on a 7591 as it is a 6L6.The 2,7 filaments are also the same. The control grid, screen grid, and the cathode has to be changed around also. You then have to raise the neg bias voltage by about 35 to 40% and you do that by putting in lower value resistors in that circuit.I also canned the 7247s in favor 12ax7s as that gave me more gain in the preamp as well as more output.I had to change plate and cathode resistors to but the noise level of the preamp just dropped down to nothing. If you want,I will gladly email you everything I do to these if you want to do yours.I also eliminated the center channel and I lowered the GFB by using a larger value resistor in the output.
