That Depends . . .

As some others have mentioned, your choice will be influenced by factors such as sources (do you want FM? Phono capability? just CD?) and which speakers you plan on using.

Also, define 'budget'. For some here that might mean $1000s and for others a couple of hundred $$.

And, because most vintage will have at least some parts that will need to be brought back up to original specs (or better), are you interested in doing this work yourself or will you need to hire a tech?
