A smart person would remove the tone controls, but I have this issue with non-functioning knobs on the front panel. Careful redesign using quality parts should get tone controls within a few percent of the quality of not having any tone controls. I was hoping not to develop a schematic what I can see & then redesign the tone controls. But the simple path does not always come forth.
