Thanks for your thoughts Dave, I also feel the same way with regards to the eico.

The Scott 130 is a really neat preamp and I could have a chance of getting one but i haven't heard one at it's best. Surely the cost of restoration plays a big role in my decision making between the eico and CJ. I'm thinking I may have to spend more on the hf-85 since it seems to have more parts and is older.
