Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Now that's the part I don't understand...

A cleanunit, totaly stock, unrepaired or updated in any way will fetch much more money on the 'bay than updated and fixed stuff. I don't get it at all.

A few years ago I sold my Eico HF-85 preamp on ebay that I had totaly rebuilt. New caps, resitors, power supply, tube sockes, RCA jacks, volume control and power cord. I stuck with the orginal circuit. That sucker had $200 in parts alone in it. It sold for the same $$$ as an untouched one. That stuff ALL NEEDS SERVICE! Even if it "works".

(shaking my head) I should have kept it...
