Yes, you are exactly right ... I was describing the most basic form of sound enginnering, which is used to "capture" a live event. And it is true that advanced sound enginnering equipment/techniques are used in modern studios to "create" musical performances, complete with soundstage and imaging. We are taking about the same concept here. I'm sure a lot of time, effort, money, and thought go into this aspect of the recording process .... and it was undoubetly meant to be heard. Is the Eico HF-81 capable of amplifying these details? Based on your input and that of other respondants ... Yes, perhaps it can.
This audio hobby is much more complicated than I ever though it could be and the choices are almost endless. Take the wrong turn and it becomes an excerise in futility. I've been down many a dead-end road and have a whole closet full of useless equipment to prove it. The best way to minimize frustration and keep forward momentum going is to simply ask someone who knows. I did ..... and am truly graitful to you and the other members who took the time to reply.
Many thanks,
