I have about vintage amp made and a few newer ones..I have 4 mac mc60s and a pair of citation 2 HKs and a pair of eico hf50s and a pair of altec 1570a and a zillion dynas to name just a few..I also have a pair of SE811 AES amps that are very good.To be honest all my amps are modded with teflons or pio caps and 5% resistors and about 5 times the original capacitance in the power supply and the usual input wiring and gold connectors.Ill tell you what.Im not done modding my altec 1570s which are PP but resemble a SE amp with the DHT tubes they use.The HK citation is hard to beat anyway you slice it.You do a few jim mcshane mods to it or sheldon stokes mods and it rivals and beats any amp ive heard and this is on my martin logan monolith 2s which are hard to drive highly accurate speakers.The citation 2 is my favorite amp period.
