If you have a marantz 8 or 8b i would definitely use that amp as opposed to the hf81.Granted the el84 is a better tube sonically in my opinion than an el34 but you have an unfortunate lack of power in most instances.Now if you listen at civilized levels and dont play a lot of music with heavy transients,you,ll be fine with the eico.
