unfortunately because the HF81 produces something like 14 watts per channel and would probably like something that's over 90db/watt efficiency. I have an EICO hf-12 which is basically half an 81. Using it with unefficient speakers like a smaller advent makes you just crank it to full volume. I would guess that keeping the amp cranked like this all the time is a bad idea.
The EL34 is NOT similar. different sonic signature, el84's are small whereas EL34's use the full size octal socket. It's the 9-pin successor to the 6v6gt or something. I like EL84 highs.
