Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Yes, it is a PR

Properly positioned the 15's will do Organ pedals at levels up to about 90db. I owned a pair for nigh on 8 years.

They are efficient.

The tweeter (hf1300) is probably the best hard dome design ever made,a nd among the longest lived designs to boot. The famous Spendor BC and SP designs used them, as did Rogers, the BBC's own monitors, the IMF transmission line monsters, often with a super tweeter.

I would counsel that you consider checking the values of the caps ( resistors can shift too) in the Xovers. If they have shifted - likely - replace with good caps - lowest cost opton would be Philips' yellow block polycarbonates of 100 volt ratings, and standard (matched by you) wire wound R's will do, if needed.

Also check to see if the walls are damped with bitumen pads, as the first series' were. If not damped with bitumen pads, obtain some modelling clay and lead shot and use that (warm the clay only in a microwave) formed into strips and pads to damp the surfaces and the corners inside and the frames of all the drivers. [NB I used bitumen roofing compound, two layers, drying between, pongs a lot and you have to wait for that to stop before re-assembling them.]

The way the drivers are inset inside the lips of the enclosure surrounding the baffle means that they sound far better with their grilles fitted. They are designed to do so.

OTOH - do consider applying foam infill to the baffle - out level with the lips - to reduce reflections off those lips and improve diffraction off and around the baffle.

If you glue the foam to the baffle you can re-glue the original velcro strips on the front of the foam, if you want to use the grilles when not listening that is.

Biwiring is worth it, too.
