Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Re: Does any vintage gear match performance of current SOTA? (nt)

YES!!

After proper reconditioning, a Harmon/Kardon Citation II power amp will beat the pants off of current single pair 6550/KT88/KT90 per channel units. BETTER O/P transformers are a large part of the superior performance.

Again, with good repair, the Marantz 10B, the McIntosh MR71, and the McIntosh MR67 tuners will sound better than anything in the current inventory. Heck, a Dyna FM3 sounds GOOD; MAYBE an expensive Magnum/Dynalab is better than the FM3.

Today's designer/engineers have NOTHING on Fisher, Hegeman, Marantz, Recklinghausen, et al.
