Great thread! I actually have that basement. Cinderblock walls, asphalt tiled carpet, hung ceiling. Am in the process of ripping it all out and refinishing it and actually toyed around with the idea of building permanent speakers or "woofer blocks" with cinderblocks and mortar and integrating them as part of the wall. Even had some reconed Altec 15 inchers I was going to use. Then ceramic tile the whole thing to make it purty. Unfortunately, the plan was compromised in the name of marital harmony. I'm still really curious about the sonics of this, anyone here ever made speakers from bricks?
