Affordability I can't vouch for since some of this stuff doesn't come up often so it's probably cheaper than you think. Anyway, here goes -- sound quality is obviously not the KEY to success therefore:SAE Amplifier (around 25 WPC
SAE PreAMP (with equalizer to MAX your BASS)
Revox A77 with Dolby R2R (Even with no auto reverse you get HOURS of playing without having to touch it. Plus the bass vibes won't vome the tonearm on your light-tracking table.
Dahlquist DQ10 speaks -- the room is big enough to take them and they are tank like. The EQ in the preamp takes care of the Bass shortfall.(Anyway, this was my first venture toward hi-fi years ago and Party-On was the key at the time. It worked.)
