RE: The $200 Challenge

If you saw some A25s, and they were in decent shape and reasonably priced, snatch them up. You'll be hard pressed to find a more versatile, great sounding speaker, in such a perfect dorm room sized package. I've run them with vintage Pioneer, Marantz, Harmon Kardon, Kenwood, Concept, etc., etc. and they sound good with all of them. One of my favorite matches with the Dynacos is the Pioneer SX-636. Nice tuner, good phono section, and frequently available on eBay for less than $50 + shipping. A nice looking little receiver too IMO. As others mentioned, thrifts and yard sales are your best bet for a real bargain. I'd add to that list, swap meets (aka flea markets). Oh the things I've found on the cheap at swap meets. One mans trash...
