Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Cambridge Soundworks Model Six (if they're still available)

Not bad as is; very, very good with the revised XO described a few years back in audioXpress magazine. I did a pair of these for my daughter and she was (and is) very pleased with them (as was I).

E-mail me if you want more info.

Good, small used choices would include EPI Model 70's (or 60's; even smaller), Polk Monitor 5's, 5jr's, or even Monitor 4's (again, based on size). AR-4a's were designed FOR dorm use as far as I can tell. The later (Teledyne-era) AR-18's were very high-value speakers at their very modest cost. Rogers LS3/5a's would be quite nice, but a little pricey :-)

all the best,
mrh
