Do not know the brand you are discussing but at $2k you could go to say Audio Classics and get a MC225 or 8/8b that has been gone over and they will run trouble free for many years.Another thought for you would be 1 of the ARC amps such as D50. 75, 76, 76a or 1 of the Classic series. Again these are excellent long term amps and still supported by ARC.
While the Chinese are really starting to show they can produce some decent quality, it still seems the QC is a bit iffy. This is the opposite of 1 of your objectives since reliability may be more an issue with it than 1 of the Classics that have been given a complete checkup.
