Pretty cynical view of the world

Maybe it's just me, but I think the Cayin approach (copying "classic" sound profiles) is just a bit cynical. It says "we can tailor the sound anyway we want to" but not that they are producing the best amps that they know how to make.

I have owned a mac275, a dynaco, and have heard the marantz. I guess the question is, even if the circuits are copies, can they match the output transformer transfer characteristics? To me, this is still the big weakness for the Chinese designs I've seen/heard (Ming-Da comes to mind).

I'd hang on to my 11-foot pole! (that's for things you wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole).

YMMV

Frank
