i.e. the "Cobex" cone is part of the design and to preserve the sound quality I would think you would need to recone with the same cone design. Maybe they're still available somewhere.I agree with you that they are very top notch speakers and I feel fortunate to own them (bought them used from a friend who was migrating to $7500 Magnepans.)
