I love my 700s but they are beginning to get senior issues. First, one driver has a hairline crack that runs along the lower edge of the indentation where the dust cap would be if it had a dust-cap. For two years I couldn't hear this but sometimes now I think I can. I thought of running a thin line of super-glue over the crack. Comments? I doubt one can get a replacement driver at this point and I'm not sure I want to break the seal of the enclosure anyway.Secondly, the prong on a cheater connector broke off in one of the 4 connector holes on the back. This is a connector that takes one lead coming in and plugs into two holes, for people who don't want to biwire. Yes, I deserve to be flogged with a wet noodle for failure to biwire, but what's done is done. Is there a good way to tease out the piece of the prong that is buried in the input hole? I thought of a bobby-pin with a dab of super-glue on it inserted into the hole overnight, then pulled out. Better way?
Thanks for comments/suggestions. Btw, these are still great-sounding speakers. The exotic enclosure and the elaborate stands really work.
