RE: Which vintage integrateds sound warm and sweet like Grado cartridges?

Maybe you should try to figure out what you did to the HF-81 that caused it to lose that sound? It sounds like it might not have been a restoration in the strictest sense. I would think that if you use carbon comp resistors and ceramic coupling caps, like the original, you would get that sound back. That, and maybe use some darker sounding tubes.
