You have a much better looking example than mine. I didn't take the time to clean mine up so nicely. I meant no offense with my comments, but realistically Eico's aethsics were very much geared towards function. I have never been a big fan to Eico's selection of plastic knobs and front panels(my Scott 209's are no lookers either with their cheesey plastic knobs). Compared to even a Dynaco SCA-35 the HF-81 looks a little cheesey. Sound quality-wise, there is no comparison between the two. You are also right that an HF-81 when totally up to snuff will indeed embarass a lot of other amps. Enjoy!
