Eico HF-87 etc.

Wow, I'm jealous. I think you will be really happy with it. I've been listening to an Eico ST70 I got a few months ago, but didn't plug in till a few days ago, and it is really rocking my world. The st70 seems to be fairly similar to the HF87, but integrated with 7591's instead of el34's, and it isn't ultralinear. Sounds foot tapping great bone stock - super hi fidelity, but I may try to triode connect it sometime to see what it sounds like. I think maybe it has some sprague PIO's in it for coupling caps, but I only took a cursory glance at it - just checked the tubes and brought it up with a light bulb "variac".

Ebay is definitely tougher than a couple years ago. People have definitely discovered eico. You still see heathkit SA2's go for $50 though, there are some sleepers.

Have fun.
