THat is a switch to parallel the amp sections to make the amp a higher power mono.

Here is a manual to your amp…The HF-81 is actually a dual mono amp with separate rectifier tubes. Looking at the amp from the front,the slide switch on the deck or chassis as we call it should be set to the right.
