Eico HF-81 power transformer...question...help

Hello everyone,

I replaced my eico HF-81 power transformer with one made by Heyboer for the eico. It is a drop in replacement. I have not tested voltages in the unit yet but I powered it up and played some music. My question is this: The sound now is constricted or discombobulated, not horrible but definitely different and like I said, it seems a bit discombobulated like things are just not being put together right. Music wise.

Do power transformers need break in??
