GarySorry, I don't have any experience with the EICO, but I did just read a review of the EICO HF-81 in Stereophile (June 2006). Look it over if you can. The author, Peter Breuninger, listed a couple of sites that deal with rebuilding the HF-81 that might provide info or links for your 86. The first one, http://home.earthlink.net/~eico_hf81, describes one owners rebuild of his HF-81. The second one, http://samsaudiolabs.com, is the site of the company that rebuilt the HF-81 in the artcle. Good luck.
