Took a little work but the HF-87 is kicking out some very fine tunes via a Marantz CD-63 mk ll and a pair of Alon l's.C15,C16 and C19 have been replaced with Mallory caps and the .1uf coupling caps C5,6,7 and 8 have been replaced with Solen caps. R27,R28 and R35 have been replaced with Dale resistor with double the specified wattage ratings. The input RCA's have also been upgraded as well.
It is absolutely silent except for a very slight hum in the right channel with my ear right up next to the speakers.
Man what a musical amp :-) This little baby gets the musical momentum/emotion just right and has plenty of juice to keep the music moving smoothly along when the big transients hit. Big time foot tapper!!
Any suggestions for further tweaking would be greatly appreciated.
