How does an original Eico HF-81 stack up to its contemporaries and some of the newer stuff out there soundwise? I have a line on an original Eico HF-81 intefrated amp...trans is supposed to be dead quiet (I had heard this might be a weak area on some Eico's)...it should be fine for now says the owner but will (presumably)need freshening at some time...I have found some websites (Unofficial Eico, etc.) but I am new to tubes and wondering if this might make a good primer...I actually still have my Father's Eico HFT-91 tuner but I believe it is not stereo...any thoughts or experiences you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill
