Hi Banning,
From where I sit this sounds a bit like the old tubes vs sand amp argument which I'm sure we all agree goes nowhere fast. I've had the pleasure of owning some very nice vintage tube gear as well as a couple of very nice '70's ss pieces. I can assure you that there are some very good sounding "70's ss pieces that deserve to be discussed for their musical reproduction. Perhaps you would be happier with a "Collectors Corner" although I feel we suffer enough segregation in this world without bringing audio into the mix. I for one don't see the need to make Rod's job any tougher than it already is.
