As long as we are on one of our semi-annual S-5000 lovefests I thought I would post a few pics.
Below: Sherwood S-5000 above the Fisher X-202-B....As it should be. The Sherwood kills the Fisher in everyway.

Below: Back view of the Sherwood S-5000. Note the five slanted 12AX7s.

Below: F-U and the box you came in.

Below: Of course you need great output tubes. In this case a matched quad of Amprex Bugle Boy 7189.

Below: Mikey stuff.

Below: Russian Teflon coupling caps. They barley fit. I cannot comment if they are better in this application that K-40s. I have K-40s in my Fisher 500c and while they sound fine, I suspect the Russian Teflon caps are a significant step up. Maybe Mikey can comment since he did the work.

My S-5000 after Mike-ro surgery will compete with ANY integrated I have heard.
I have compared it with integrated amps from Pathos, Jolida, Audio Research, and Prima Luna. If you have a integrated from one of these manufacturers, I urge you to hear a rebuilt Sherwood with this caveat - You may get your feelings hurt.
Mikey; When you get some time I would like to get my SP-3A1 rebuilt. I'm going to pull the trigger on the Spatial M3 Turbo S when my tax return comes back to its rightful owner.
Merry Christmas to all of you inmates, and God's blessings in the coming year.
GR.....
