The power supply looks beefy enough for 4 ohms. Possibly, it was limited by a protection circuit.
Stiffness was decent running 26,000 uF at 47 V rails for 28.7 joules. By comparison, your CAS-1 with the same power output runs 32,000 uF at 49 V for 38.4 joules.
I suspect the 140 did require protection circuitry using only two outputs per channel. The CAS-1 uses six . :)
